You Are Just the Ticket

Happy Monday everyone!  Sorry it was another quiet week last week but I have a very good reason for my lack of blog activity...but I can't share yet...but I will share very soon...Stay tuned...

Until I can share any exciting news about me, I want to share some exciting news about my sweet friend, Monika Davis, who is this week's featured stamper on Splitcoast!  WooHoo!!  Monika is an amazing designer, seriously making one-of-a-kind creations and are all Monika!  And she is about the sweetest person around so there's no way I couldn't CASE one of her cards to play along with the challenge!!

You can see Monika's original card here.  For my card I used a fun background stamp from Impression Obsession, a darling ticket stamp (and die) from The Cat's Pajamas, and a big 'ol heart image from Paper Smooches

Hop on over to SCS and check out Monika's gallery and then play along with this week's challenge!

You're a Lifesaver

Hi there!  Today's card is one that I created a week or two ago for a Splitcoast CAS challenge - to use white on white.  I was happy with the end result of this card but felt like it was maybe too much for a CAS card so I ended up going with this one but this sweet stamp from The Cat's Pajamas is too cute not to share!

I started by die cutting two tags, using my Tim Holtz tag die, and then I embossed them with this fun swirl embossing folder (kinda like waves, right??)  The stamp set, Aye Aye Captian, contains the bunny, great sentiment, and the tiny lifesavers...aren't they so cute?  And they perfectly fit the hole on the tag!

Once the tags were attached, and joined with a piece of twine, (BTW...I found this great tag idea in a recent CARDS issue), I stamped Captian Bunny on a piece of cardstock, colored him with Copics, and cut him out (attached with foam tape).  Then the sentiment was added by using a paper banner!

Enjoy and check out TCP's stamps...they're super fun!

There's No Such Thing

I almost wanted to title today's post, "Always a Bridesmaid..."  LOL!  I wasn't selected for the CAS DT this time around (snagged a guest spot) and I was a little disappointed as I've tried out four times...sigh four times.  Funny, I don't try out for many teams.  One, I'm really happy being on the teams I'm currently on and two, there isn't a long list of teams I'm super excited about (well some I'm excited about but know I don't stand a chance or they're teams that don't post public calls...they hand select designers) but the CAS team...humm...that's one I really want and it's tough to make it to the very end, yet again, and not be selected.  However, I am really excited for two designers who did make the team as they've tried out along side me every three months, they're both very talented designers, and I'm giddy for them.  So for now I'm happy with my guest spot and maybe I'll try out again...we'll see...a girl can only handle so much rejection!  LOL!

Today's card was my final submission, which funny enough was selected as one of last week's CAS favorites.  This sweet stamp is from The Cat's Pajamas.  The challenge for this card was to use paper piecing on a portion of the image and I used designer paper, from My Minds Eye, on the sheep's scarf and pockets.  I adore the sentiment and loved the final outcome of this card.  The tag was created using a Tim Holtz die; the paper is also from My Minds Eye.  I dyed the ribbon with my Copic markers so that it would match the background color of the cardstock.

Enjoy today's card and check back with me in three months...we'll see if I've "recovered" enough to try out for the team again!! :-)

WooHooooo

As you can tell from my odd centered formatting, I'm still getting used to the Blogger changes....grrrr....I'm not really partial to centered text, I'm a left justified kind of girl! **giggle**

But today's card is so much fun that I can't stay cranky for too long!  This is a card featuring totally fun images from Paper Smooches!  I love Paper Smooches!  Kim has designed some of the sweetest little creatures and all kinds of sentiments that are perfect for any occasion!  My card features a darling bird from the My Peeps set and sentiment from the Chubby Chums set.  My card was made especially for a dear friend of mine who is embarking on a personal journey to make some positive changes and I wanted to send her a little card to encourage her.

The base of my card was stamped with a background image from Hero Arts and then I just gently sponged the edges of the entire card 'cause I just can't help myself!  Then I added just a few layers of cardstock in red and yellow polka dots.  The red cardstock was cut with a scalloped die from My Favorite Things.  Then I used a branch die, from Tim Holtz, to create the branches and a cloud die from The Cat's Pajamas for the..umm...clouds.  (The clouds are in felt)  My sweet birdie was colored with Copics and I even stamped, colored, and cut out a second wing for a wee bit of dimension.  And now I'm off to get this in the mail with hopes that it will bring a smile to the face of my dear friend.

Enjoy!!

And Away We Go

I adore shaped dies. I adore them so much that I'm teaching a class next week at Wholly Scrap! where we'll use a bunch of The Cats Pajamas dies. I can't wait.

Today's card features the following dies from TCP; Cloud Border and the banner from the Easy Rosette set. And that sweet little bunny is from the aptly named Away We Go set. (I also adore this bunny!) The fun, sparkly designer paper is from Momenta and the clouds were cut out of fun felt, also available from The Cat's Pajamas. And do you see those tiny pearls on the banner? They are from one of my new favorite products, Perfect Pearls. I love this product...It's amazing! You must go and buy at least 10 bottles of this stuff...it will change your life...OK, not really but you will have fun crafting with them!

Enjoy!!

The Sky is the Limit

Remember the Stamping Around event in OH? Remember that it was hosted by a great toy/stamping store called Toyrifix? And remember that I came home with far too many new stamps, dies, and other goodies? Well I'm finally pulling those new goods out of their bags, where they have been living for the past month, and made a card for the Toyrifix challenge (you can check it out here).

Today's card, which was made for a brand new high school grad from our church, was created using the super cute Cat's Pajamas stamp set, Away We Go. I love these bunny images...those ears...so huge and fabulous! And how about those clouds? I'm finally jumping on the shaped die bandwagon and since Toyrifix was carrying all kind of fun dies, I had to purchase a few! The cloud die is called Cloud Border and it's also from The Cat's Pajamas. My designer paper is from Echo Park.

Enjoy and remember...The sky is the limit!
