Sweet 'n Sassy Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy blog hop! Today we're celebrating the release of oodles of Christmas stamp sets! Although I'm not all that excited about the arrival of cold weather (how is it that the summer is winding down already?), I am excited about the arrival of these amazing new stamp sets!! I'm showcasing the "Season of Love" set, which includes this darling silhouette image along with a boatload of sentiments (I used one on yesterday's card!) Since every time I see a silhouette image I think of Michelle Zindorf, I had to check out her tutorials to see if I could find something that would work with this image. And...of course I did! This was an easy background to create...I started with a large circle, the largest Nestibilities plain circle die, which became my mask. I used the circle mask in the middle of my card and sponged Distress Ink around the "moon." Once the mask was removed I stamped my image in the center of the moon. I sponged (note that Michelle typically uses a brayer to create her backgrounds...I stink at using a brayer so I always use sponges) black Distress Ink on the bottom of the card to fill in around the bottom of my moon, which grounded the image. A white gel pen added a few twinkling stars and Stickles gave my large star some bling. I also added just a hint of pale yellow behind the star. The sentiment is included with the set but the words are stacked and I wanted them in a line so...I inked up one word at a time and stamped them on my kraft cardstock ribbon. The final touch? Two shiny brads and a crochet flower with a rhinestone middle! Now on to the rest of the blog hop!! (Be sure you start at the SNSS Blog!) Here are the links to the rest of the team...and some of the designers have a few challenges posted for you...Enjoy!! Kim this is so stunning and thanks for sharing Michelle's blog link. I am always so impressed with any card that displays the true meaning of Christmad and with the world around us trying to push Christ out of Christmas, this card is dear to me. To know that there are still products that Proclaim the Good News is such a blessing. I can remember last year going to one of the local malls and trying to find a card that even expressed Merry Christmas was difficult. So thank you for the inspiration and for the reminder that Christ is still and always weill be the meaning of Christmas. Hugs sweetie.
