I need to get stamping! My recent posts are from the archives, photos that I took long ago but have yet to post! I've actually been busy stamping but it's been prepping for classes and making gifts. I'm looking forward to enjoying some stamping just for fun time! :-)
Today, I'm sharing a bookmark that I made using some adorable Odd Bird Planet images. Aren't those two birdies so cute together? This isn't your traditional bookmark, though...It's created by sandwiching magnets and ribbon inside squares pieces of cardstock. It's important to use a thin magnet so that your cardstock won't have a big bump in the middle. Using layers also helps offset any magnet thickness. Layering should go (from the back of the piece):
-Cardstock
-Magnet
-Ribbon
-Top layer of cardstock, with stamping, etc.
Basically, you want the magnet to only be covered by one layer of cardstock so that you won't have any difficulty with the two sides sticking together.
When you're ready to stop reading, just drape the two square pieces of the bookmark over the page you want to save and the magnets will "click" together, holding your place until you're ready to return to your book.
Don't forget to check in on Johanna's blog and the Odd Bird Planet design team blogs (links on the right) for details on the Chinese New Year sale, coming up on 1/16-23!! Enjoy!

I love this bookmark idea. I'm always using scraps of paper or receipts, which the children just pull out anyway!
