Sweet 'n Sassy Featured Stamps of 2014 - The Future

 

Happy Monday!  Today Sweet 'n Sassy is continuing their month long celebration, featuring a select group of sets.  (Hit the SNSS blog to see more goodies!)  My card features the sentiment set, The Future.  This set includes 10 sentiments for only $15!  What a great deal!

  I used a whole bunch of other sets on my card (why use just one?!) today.  The text background, over the grey polka dot paper is the Friendship Script background set.  This is a stamp that I use again and again...it's such a great image to use as an accent or background.  Love it!  I also framed my sentiment using the Decorative Frames stamp set.  I adore being able to add aa edge design to the frame...how divine!  Finally, I couldn't create a card without including some butterflies so I die cut three of these beauties, using the Majestic Monarchs die set and then used the matching stamps to decorate.  (I just die cut the butterflies out of a piece of scrap paper that was already inked).  The velvet flower and stick pins are from Maya Road.

Sweet 'n Sassy Release Day - Cute Critters

Hi everyone and welcome to our last sneak peek release day for Sweet 'n Sassy!  Have you been having an amzing time on each day's hops?  I have loved seeing all of the creations by our super talented design team!  Be sure to check the SNSS blog for all of the release and hop details!

 

Today's set is called Cute Critters and it is indeed cute...super cute!  I adore the sweet animal stamps and coordinating sentiments.  Great for so many projects!  For my project, I decided to make Valentine's for my kids.  We don't typically do much for Valentine's Day but I usually make both of my boys a handmade Valentine that tells them how much I love them.  (They both still have all of theirs tacked up to their bedroom walls!  So sweet!)

I created each Valentine with the same design and simply changed out the animal and sentiment.  I started by stamping the Friendship Script background stamp on kraft cardstock (oh, these are all ATC size, 2.5" x 3.5").  I then die cut a heart, using the Hearts die set, and ran it through an embossing folder.  Next the fussy-cut critter was colored with Copics and attached to the heart, using foam tape, and the sentiment was added!  Perfect size for my young children and enough room on the back for me to write a little note to each of them...I can't wait for February 14!

You & Me

Today we're just one week away from the 200th CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge and next week there will be a big 'ol CAS party on Splitcoast!  Mark your calendars and don't miss out!

This week's challenge was a sketch challenge, which I love!  The sample is just darling but...but...the main image was tilted and...umm...well...I have a hard time tilting my main images (I break out into a sweat when I go ahead and glue down a tilted main image!)  Does that give you a clue into my personality? LOL! 

So besides keeping my main image straight, I stayed true to the rest of this week's sketch. :-)  I did keep my card pretty clean and simple, using a piece of embossed cardstock at the bottom of the card and a simple square to highlight this darling image from the You & Me stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy.  I did stamp the Friendship Script stamp, also from Sweet 'n Sassy, in the background and popped up my peas and carrots.  Then I just added this sweet checked ribbon and a button.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Sweet 'n Sassy

How exciting to be celebrating Sweet 'n Sassy's birthday!  It's hard to believe Sweet 'n Sassy Sassy Stamps is celebrating five fabulous years this month and I've been with the team for three of those five years....Seriously great times, SNSS is not only one of my favorite stamp companies but Korin is one of my favorite people! :-)  Time definitely flies when you're having fun and creating with Sweet 'n Sassy is full of fun!

We have a lot planned this month in honor of the 5th birthday starting with today's special DT Favorites Blog Hop.  The best part about this hop is that all of the sets the DT is featuring are on sale---25% off today through November 7th!!!

One of my favorite SNSS stamp sets is Everyday Miracles.  I have used this set numerous times...either to grab one of the butterfly images or the sentiments.  And it's no secret that butterflies are one of my favorite images so this has to be a fav set!  I also used Friendship Script on this set, in the background, which is another favorite of mine...it's a perfect accent or background stamp for any style of card!  I colored the butterfly with Distress Markers, using my craft sheet and a water brush to get a watercolor effect.  Want to see a few other cards created with this set?  You can check them out here:

Hi friends!  Welcome to Friday..WooHoo!!  I'm seriously ready for the weekend this week!  Headed out tonight with my hubby to celebrate his birthday (ask me if I've even done anything for him yet...nope...I better get busy!) and on Saturday I hope to enjoy a long morning, sipping coffee, hanging with my kiddies and not even thinking about schoolwork! :-)

 

For today's card I decided to create a CAS card on...black!  Most CAS cards are on white but hey, black is cool too, right?  I started by layering a few Distress Stains on to white cardstock.  I used white cardstock by Wplus 9 because it's super thick and able to handle the stains without warping.  I then dried the stains with my heat gun and got out my Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and dies!  I first stamped the Friendship Script stamp on the cardstock and got busy with my fav New Beginnings Butterfly dies.  Once the butterflies were cut out I added tiny gold pearls for their bodies.  The sentiment is from the True Friend stamp set and I used a die from My Favorite Things, Layered Label, to frame the sentiment.  Easy peasy, right?

Today's card came about after looking through a book that I purchased for my boys yesterday...a mini Smash book. (Who has jumped on the Smash book bandwagon??) I thought the Smash books would be a great spot for them to jot down some of their summer memories. Both of them have already filled out a few pages and added some stickers.

One of the Smash book pages was covered with a beautiful rainbow of colors that looked as if someone had watercolored right on the page. When I saw the page I immediately imagined this card!

To create the card I used Distress Stains to color on a piece of sticky backed canvas. Once the stains were dry (you can speed up this process with a heat gun), I stamped my images directly onto the canvas. I started with the Friendship Script stamp, which I stamped in Pumice Stone Distress Ink and then I added a flower image, also stamped in Pumice Stone and Black Soot, from the Nature Silhouettes stamp set. Next, I frayed the edges of the canvas by pulling out a few of the strings from each side of the sqaure. My card was assembled and then I added this great sentiment from the new Make a Wish stamp set.
