Hey, Hey, It's Digi Day!

Hey there!! Only one more day until Friday, whose ready for the weekend? I am!! It's been a busy week and I'm looking forward to a few days of rest. Whose with me?? :-) Well before we get to the weekend, we get to enjoy another Sweet 'n Sassy digi day over at SNR and PCP. Today's challenge is to create a masculine card and with Father's Day just around the corner, it's the perfect time to pull out those manly cards. I created a card for my Dad (gee, hope he's not ready the blog today...close your eyes Dad!) using a retired acrylic stamp set from SNSS. I love lighthouse images and think they're a perfect choice for masculine cards. Instead of coloring in the entire image I decided to create a color background, using Distress Inks. I used a blending tool to add the ink after stamping the image. The edges of the cardstock have been pierced and distressed. (Whole lotta distressing going on!) The striped paper is a new line from Ruby Rock-it that I picked up at Wholly Scrap. The sentiment is from Papertreyink, as are the buttons. And I included a Happy Father's Day sentiment inside my card along with a few paper scraps! Be sure to check out the SNR and PCP pages for the full challenge details and to be entered into the drawing for free digis! Enjoy!

Digi Day and Tiffany Doodles Winner

Wow!! The Sweet 'n Sassy and Tiffany Doodles blog hops were amazing!! Thank you to everyone for their sweet comments and for visiting. Fun stuff!! Wondering who won that beautiful Dogwood Branch image from Tiffany Doodles? I won't make you wait any longer...the winner is... vera rhuhay who said... Love them Both! The donut with the mouse are so cute and the dogwood are so gorgeous! Vera, please contact me at ksdm@comcast.net with your email address and I'll get the image out to you asap! And now...news about today's Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Day over at Scrapbook News & Review and Paper Craft Planet. Visit either of those sites and participate in the challenge to receive a free digi and to be entered into a drawing for even more free product! Today's challenge was to use flowers in your card. Well nothing makes me happier than floral images and patterns so my biggest challenge was picking an image from my large floral-themed collection! I decided to go with this adorable Pick-A-Boo Sophie image. Isn't she cute! I colored Sophie with Copics and used this fun Basic Grey paper line in the background. Notice the fun little scalllops? Guess what they're from...a paper bag! I was having a hard time finding just the right color for the scallops and eyed a bag full of stamping goodies on my floor...humm...the color of that bag is perfect! After I punched two rows of scallops, I curled up the edges a bit for a little dimension. And how about that fab ribbon? From a new American Crafts line...love it...It's soft and fuzzy! Be sure to head over to the SNR or PCP sites to check out the challenges! Enjoy and congratulations to Vera!

Hey, Hey, It's Digi Day!

It's digi day over at the Sweet 'n Sassy group on Paper Craft Planet and I'm today's host - yeah!! Today's challenge is to use Purple and Green on your card. And if you play along with our challenge you'll be eligible to win the early bird prize (when you post your card by midnight EST tonight). Our early bird prize today is this beautiful floral image, February Iris. And just for playing along this week (by next Thursday morning) you'll receive this darling image (that I believe was drawn by Korin's son!!), Monster Friends. Now this would be a great image to use with some purple and green...and maybe aluminum! :-) You don't have to use Sweet 'n Sassy images to play along with the challenge, but if you have some, why not show them some love? We love seeing what you create with our images. We may even spotlight YOU in our next Sunday Customer Spotlight!! For my card, I used the Water Lilly image and yes, I know lilly's should be pink but mine is the very purple lilly, rarely seen in nature or by scientists! LOL! I love this image and couldn't wait to color it for today's challenge!! My sentiment is from the Flower Sentiments set, a digi set that contains four flower-themed sayings. My image has been paired with some Graphic 45 paper and a strip of purple embossed cardstock. I added tiny rhinestones from Taylored Expressions to the flower's stamen. I also used an exacto knife to cut out a few of the flower petals so that I could raise them up a bit for a little added dimension. Fun stuff!! Please visit the SNSS PCP page today to check out the other posts!!

Rainy Day Digi Giveaway

Hey there...it's Thursday and guess what that means? It's another Sweet 'n Sassy digi day over at Scrapbook News & Review and Paper Craft Planet! Starting in April, we're posting a challenge on both sites!! Today's challenge is "Let it Rain", which couldn't be more perfect for those of us living in the Northeast. We've had more rain than we know what to do with lately! After almost a month, many of us are still pumping water out of our basements and I believe rain is predicted for today! Oh, good times!! LOL! For today's challenge, I used this darling Rainy Day Teddy image that is being given away, for free, on both the SNR and PCP sites!! But there's more...if you create a card during the challenge, and post it on either site, you'll receive a 25% off coupon! My teddy bear has been colored with Copics and I highlighted the black spots, buttons, and teddy's nose, with a black glaze pen (see above). This darling paper is from Jillibean Soup, purchased at Wholly Scrap. And I can take no credit for the fun grass design...it's an idea I got from Deb Olsen...the queen of crafting! :-) The sentiment is from a retired acrylic SNSS set, since I had completely forgotten to print one out last night, but I think it's just perfect for us water logged folks...We can rejoice evermore (in Christ)...even in the midst of flooded basements and soggy belongings! :-) Enjoy!!
