Dream

Hi folks!  Here today to share a card I created this week with some brand new Tim Holtz stamps that have been added to the store.  It's no secret that I'm a huge fan a vintage look and this new set from Tim, Mercantile, is a wonderful combination of vintage images and sentiments.

When I saw the image of the man I thought that I wanted to make it look like an old photo so I started by aging a manila tag with Tea Dye ink and water.  I then stamped the image in Jet Black Archival Ink.  I then cut out the image using Spellbinders Oval dies.  Gathered Twigs Distress Ink on the edges of the image added more aging.  To create the "frame" for the photo, I covered a piece of chipboard with metal foil tape (love that stuff!), die cut with a larger oval die, used an embossing folder to emboss the foil, and then added black acrylic paint over the top of the frame.  Once the paint was dry, a sanding block was used to remove the black paint from the raised areas of the frame.

Then...here comes the fun part...I die cut a piece of plastic packaging and used Glossy Accents to adhere it over my "picture."  The Glossy Accents reacted just a bit with the ink, creating this awesome aged look...almost like vintage glass.  LOVED the result!  You can get a hint of how it looks in the photo above.  I then cut out a paper pennant and stamped the star, from the same set, across the entire surface.  All of my card surfaces got a good aging from more Gathered Twigs.  I also used one of the text stamps to lightly stamp on the background paper (stripes) to give it a little something extra.  This great paper is from the new Botanical Tea paper pad from Graphic 45.  Then I just added a word band at the bottom of the card and attach it with twine and staples from the Tiny Attacher.

Hope you enjoyed today's card and check out all the new Tim stamps at eclectic Paperie

Sweet 'n Sassy Release - Pick Me Up

A coffee themed stamp set...swoon...Nothing makes me happier than coffee and stamping.  Seriously, good stuff and you'll be giddy once you hear that there is a coordinating die set that goes with the new Pick Me Up stamp set!  That's right, a die for the mug, tiny heart, steam, and more!

I went CAS for this card as I simply had to use this fun designer paper from Fancy Pants (Be Loved) with the sweet grey mug full of my favorite beverage.  Just a sweet sentiment is all that was needed to finish out today's card.  Enjoy every sip!!

Sweet 'n Sassy Release Celebration - God's Will

And it's day three!  Wow...the time is flying by and we're having such a great time showcasing the wonderful new sets released this month!  Today's featured set is God's Will and this would be one of my favorite thing about Sweet 'n Sassy stamps...the great Scripture verse stamps...there are so many wonderful options!  The God's Will set includes six verses, just waiting to be stamped on a card, scrapbook page, or even home decor project!

When I saw the set I knew I had to create a nice sunset backdrop.  I created this just by using some Distress Ink and a punched circle.  Add some ink, use the circle as a mask, and add more ink!  Then I stamped the lighthouse image from the Landscape Silhouettes set in grey, followed by the verse from Isaiah.  And since I loved that scallop look from yesterday's card, I used the new Borders and Background die to cut out this embossed scalloped edge.

Sweet 'n Sassy Release Celebration - Borders and Backgrounds

It's day two!  And I'm super excited about today's set because it coordinates with a die set and the designs are...well...darling!!  Today we're showing off the new Borders and Backgrounds stamp set that goes along with the die set of the same name.  And...you can get both for the bundle deal of only $37 (that's a savings of $6.50!)

The thing is, I love scallop borders and use them frequently on my cards but now...I can die cut the borders and then add a great stamped image on top (or use them alone!)  Change the colors, the designs, LOVE it!  This stamp and die set is going to be getting a lot of use in my studio!

I combined the lacy scallop borders with the His Child silhouette stamp set and some paper from My Minds Eye.  I loved using the border as a frame for the little girl image, as well as using at the bottom of the card.

Sweet 'n Sassy Release Celebration - Flower Blocks 3

Welcome to the March Sweet 'n Sassy release celebration!  Let's get this party started with a brand new floral set, Flower Blocks 3.  This great set features four big, beautiful blooms and four script sentiments.  Perfection!

I stamped and embossed the rose image on cardstock and then used watercolors to color the image.  Next I used a few texture folders to emboss two paper pennants, mounted the flower image and embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum.  Easy Peasy!
