As soon as I received my samples of metal sheets from Add a Little Dazzle, I knew I wanted to create butterflies.  I used the Monarch butterfly dies and a copper metal sheet to cut out the shapes.  I then used an embossing folder to add texture to the butterflies.  Next, I aged the butterflies by adding black paint over each butterfly.  Before the paint was dry, I used a paper towel to dab off the paint until the desired look was achieved.  With the embossing on the butterflies, the paint stays down in all the crevices and really adds some age to the metal.  I love the look!  And the metal sheets makes bending the butterfly wings a snap and they stay in place.  I created my card base using some designer paper designed by Tim Holtz, along with a piece of died ribbon, attached with tiny staples.  Of course those pretty butterflies needed some rhinestone trails.  The sweet sentiment, from the Psalms, is from the His Child stamp set.

Sweet 'n Sassy Friday Feature - Love Birds

Hello sweet friends and welcome once again to Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps New Release Friday Feature!
The Design Divas have some fabulous samples for you to see today as we feature one of our new stamp sets and matching dies available at the Sweet 'n Sassy StoreLove Birds clear stamp set and Love Birds Die Set.

Now it's time for our April Release Blog Hop feature and Challenge!

So...I have a confession...I ADORE coordinating stamps and dies.  Every time I stamped one of the images from the new stamp set on my pre-cut cardstock, I ohhh'd and ahhh'd.  Love it!  And how cute is this set?  Just perfect for a couple I know who are having their first baby in the fall.  WooHoo!!

To create my card, I started by applying white embossing paste through the Wendy Vecchi Honeycomb stencil onto a piece of cardstock.  Once the paste was dry I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to color the entire background a lovely shade of pink (it's a girl!)  Next came some aging by using a blending tool and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink (because ALL edges must be brown!)  Then I just had to create the layers on my card, using this pretty paper from Graphic 45, Botantical Tea (isn't that Celebration journal tag perfect?!), and text paper from Authentique.  My Sweet 'n Sassy images were watercolored, using Distress Markers, and layered on top of all that pretty paper using foam tape.  Ready to check out all of the other details about today's blog hop?  Read on!

Today's features are:
