Sweet 'n Sassy Release Day - Birthday Celebration

Today at Sweet 'n Sassy we're celebrating a birthday...nine years! And during this entire month there will be lots of prizes to be won!

To start the celebration, we're releasing four brand new stamp sets today! You can see all of the new sets here. Also, every $9.00 or more order placed during November will be entered into a prize drawing for a $99 shopping spree! (The winner will be announced in early December)

This week, we're offing a free surprise goodie bag with a $25 purchase!

My project for today features the new Furry Friends stamp set, which features four furry friends, some sweet extra images, like those darling mushrooms, and a host of sentiments.

I created a shaker card using almost all of the images in the stamp set...it was too hard to choose just one or two. I created the frame by repeatably stamping the flower and mushroom images around a die cut circle. The inside of the shaker card was colored with Distress Inks and the sentiment was embossed in white. All of my critters were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut before adding to the card front with foam tape. My shaker bits are from a pack of stars and hearts I purchased at my local craft store.

I hope you enjoy today's project and don't forget to stop by the Sweet 'n Sassy store to check out all of the new goodies. Make a purchase to be entered into the giveaway!

Happy Crafting!

Truth Quotes Stamp Set - New Release from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hi friends! Welcome to the latest release from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! Today the stamp set, Truth Quotes 1 has been announced and I'm sharing a shaker card that I created using one of the sentiments from the stamp set.

This is a fairly straight forward shaker card, here's a list of steps I took to create my card. (I'll be sharing some technique videos in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that announcement!)
  1. I cut a piece of 3"x4" cardstock and created the sunset with Distress Ink.I used a large circle to create the sun. You can see a video demonstrating a similar look here.
  2. The bird, from the Nature Silhouettes stamp set, was stamped directly onto the sunset paper.
  3. The lighthouse, from the Landscape Silhouettes stamp set, was stamped on a separate piece of paper and fussy cut.
  4. I added foam tape around the entire sunset piece, attach the lighthouse to the bottom, and added my shaker card fillings, glitter and mica flakes from Prima.
  5. I set that piece aside and stamped the sentiment, from the new Truth Quotes 1 stamp set, on the pre-cut acetate. I stamped the sentiment in Archival Ink.
  6. The acetate was attached to the top of the shaker card.
  7. The frame was created with two Spellbinders dies; one nestled inside another creates a perfect frame!
  8. My card base was created using a stitch die from Simon Says, and I added clouds using a hand cut cloud mask and Distress Ink.
  9. The last step was to assemble!
I hope you enjoyed today's card! Be sure to head over to the Sweet 'n Sassy shop to take a look around at all of the beautiful stamp sets! Here's a look at the sets I used to create my card, along with a close up on the shaker card.
