Faith Sees the Invisible

Hello, crafty friends! Welcome to the first of two posts showcasing the January stamp release from Sweet 'n Sassy! Today's cards feature two new sets, Wetlands and Wetland Grass, which are two new silhouette stamp sets. (I love me some silhouette stamps!)

I created two cards with the new sets, showcasing a new Distress Ink background technique. The video below will take you through each step of the process, showing you the technique so that you can reproduce the same look. Links to products below the video. Enjoy and happy crafting!

Truth Quotes Stamp Set - New Release from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hi friends! Welcome to the latest release from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! Today the stamp set, Truth Quotes 1 has been announced and I'm sharing a shaker card that I created using one of the sentiments from the stamp set.

This is a fairly straight forward shaker card, here's a list of steps I took to create my card. (I'll be sharing some technique videos in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for that announcement!)
  1. I cut a piece of 3"x4" cardstock and created the sunset with Distress Ink.I used a large circle to create the sun. You can see a video demonstrating a similar look here.
  2. The bird, from the Nature Silhouettes stamp set, was stamped directly onto the sunset paper.
  3. The lighthouse, from the Landscape Silhouettes stamp set, was stamped on a separate piece of paper and fussy cut.
  4. I added foam tape around the entire sunset piece, attach the lighthouse to the bottom, and added my shaker card fillings, glitter and mica flakes from Prima.
  5. I set that piece aside and stamped the sentiment, from the new Truth Quotes 1 stamp set, on the pre-cut acetate. I stamped the sentiment in Archival Ink.
  6. The acetate was attached to the top of the shaker card.
  7. The frame was created with two Spellbinders dies; one nestled inside another creates a perfect frame!
  8. My card base was created using a stitch die from Simon Says, and I added clouds using a hand cut cloud mask and Distress Ink.
  9. The last step was to assemble!
I hope you enjoyed today's card! Be sure to head over to the Sweet 'n Sassy shop to take a look around at all of the beautiful stamp sets! Here's a look at the sets I used to create my card, along with a close up on the shaker card.
Happy Crafting!

Sweet 'n Sassy Release Celebration - God's Will

And it's day three!  Wow...the time is flying by and we're having such a great time showcasing the wonderful new sets released this month!  Today's featured set is God's Will and this would be one of my favorite thing about Sweet 'n Sassy stamps...the great Scripture verse stamps...there are so many wonderful options!  The God's Will set includes six verses, just waiting to be stamped on a card, scrapbook page, or even home decor project!

When I saw the set I knew I had to create a nice sunset backdrop.  I created this just by using some Distress Ink and a punched circle.  Add some ink, use the circle as a mask, and add more ink!  Then I stamped the lighthouse image from the Landscape Silhouettes set in grey, followed by the verse from Isaiah.  And since I loved that scallop look from yesterday's card, I used the new Borders and Background die to cut out this embossed scalloped edge.

Gather Love - Sweet 'n Sassy DT Favorites Sale

Sweet ‘n Sassy has some exciting news this month....they’re having a DT Favorites Sale!  From the 5th through the 9th the Deign Team is sharing samples of our favorite stamp sets on the Sweet 'n Sassy blog and each set is now on sale until October 10!

Is anyone surprised that my favorite sets is a silhouettes set?  I seriously LOVE silhouette stamps because it allows me to play with inks and create great backgrounds...one of my all time favorite techniques!  While SNSS has a ton of great silhouette sets to choose from, I went with the Landscape Silhouettes because I adore all of the different designs included with this set...and until 10/10 it's on SALE!!  (For the card above I also used the Nature Silhouettes 2 set for the grass in the front.)

The sentiment on the above card is from the Vintage Seed Packet set and guess what?  This set is on SALE!
On this card I used a sentiment from the Ocean Paradise stamp set.  (Love that big 'ol sun on this card!)

Keep in mind, these sets are very popular and at these lower prices they will likely sell out fast!

While you are there, don’t forget to check out the clearance section.  And remember that Sweet ‘n Sassy started a whole new Rewards program!

Be Blessed

Wait...it's not Monday anymore?  hee hee  Seriously, I made this card last week (way on time) to post this Monday in celebration of Mojo Monday's 300th celebration!  And then I forgot to post it on Monday...head smack!

To go along with the celebration, Mojo Monday has a boatload of sponsors (Sweet 'n Sassy is one of them!) and you can win lots and lots of prizes...WooHoo!  Be sure to head on over and check out all of the details!

I put my card together with a bunch of fab papers from Glitz and then created a sunset for my lighthouse silhouette image, from the Landscape Silhouettes stamp set.  Then I just added a sentiment from the Long Stem Silhouettes stamp set and a bird from an older set.

Enjoy and head on over to the Mojo Monday blog to check out all the festivities!

Sweet 'n Sassy Release Day - Landscape Silhouettes

Welcome to the first day of the Sweet 'n Sassy release week!  Super exciting stuff this month...seriously, these stamp sets are amazing!  I almost had a hard time creating a card as I had so many ideas!

Today's card features the brand new Landscape Silhouettes stamp set.  And I think we all know how I feel about silhouette sets...Love 'em!  I pulled a fun Michelle Zindorf idea out of my hat for this card (check out her site for tons of great tutorials) and used a bunch of Distress Ink and my blending tool to achieve this look.  I kept the rest of the card pretty simple as to just focus on that great image!  I also added a sentiment from another new set...but you'll have to wait to hear more about that one! **smile**  The entire set is listed below...

Korin shared that when she was designing the set, she kept adding more and more and more...I think she's covered almost every location on the planet with this one. It even coordinates very well with many of the other Sweet 'n Sassy silhouette sets.

  • Stamp set includes 12 images
  • Set measures approximately 8" 6"
  • The cityscape image measures approximately 4 1/8" x 7/8"
  • Designed by Korin Sutherland
  • Stamp set is priced at $26

Check out some of the fabulous samples made by our talented DT in the thumbnails below.

Be sure to leave a comment of each of the blogs along your journey because we're giving away this adorable stamp set to one lucky commenter!

The deadline to comment for a chance to win is midnight EST Friday, May 17th.  The list of winners will be announced on our website homepage by Monday, May 20th.

Thanks so much for joining us!  Enjoy the hop!
