As soon as I received my samples of metal sheets from Add a Little Dazzle, I knew I wanted to create butterflies.  I used the Monarch butterfly dies and a copper metal sheet to cut out the shapes.  I then used an embossing folder to add texture to the butterflies.  Next, I aged the butterflies by adding black paint over each butterfly.  Before the paint was dry, I used a paper towel to dab off the paint until the desired look was achieved.  With the embossing on the butterflies, the paint stays down in all the crevices and really adds some age to the metal.  I love the look!  And the metal sheets makes bending the butterfly wings a snap and they stay in place.  I created my card base using some designer paper designed by Tim Holtz, along with a piece of died ribbon, attached with tiny staples.  Of course those pretty butterflies needed some rhinestone trails.  The sweet sentiment, from the Psalms, is from the His Child stamp set.

  23. Beautiful!! I just recently found out the joys of embossing die cuts made with metal tape. Love it, but these metal sheets look like they would allow you to create dimension like you did with the wings. Great idea.
