Hello my fellow bloggers..I'm sorry, what day is it again? What? It's Friday??!! Good gracious, where has the week gone! Seems we have been super-duper busy these past few weeks. We've had family visiting, friends visiting, gone on a few adventures (some that even included me hiking in the woods...yes, outside in the woods...with the bears), been busy with schoolwork, and prepping for the next Stamping Around event! The good news is that I've actually had some decent stamping time amidst all our happenings...even if my house looks like a bomb went off and the grim and junk that is currently on my kitchen floor is repulsive (anyone know of a good cleaning lady??). Hey, something has to give in the name of crafting, ya know?
Last weekend, a good friend of mine came up to visit for the day and she brought with her two giant bags full of goodies. Lots of Ranger inks, Tim Holtz products, distress inks, tags, stamps...you name it, she had it! (You can purchase all Tim Holtz and Ranger products at eclectic Paperie!) My friend has been watching lots of Tim Holtz videos so we had a grand 'ol time trying our hand at some of the techniques. We were so involved in stamping that when my children starting whining that they were hungry (didn't they know I was busy??) I simply made a phone call to the local pizza joint and kept right on stamping! Look, I know what my priorities are...
The first thing I got to play around with were Tim Holtz masks, which are basically a stencil. You can just see the swirl design on my tab, up in the right hand corner. I did another tag with a compass mask that I'll share later. On this tag, I also used glitter mist from Tattered Angels...fabulous stuff. You can see the shimmer in the photo below:
The rest of my tag was aged and covered with various stamps...a word stamp from SU!, and flower, sentiment, and background image stamps from Unity. I love creating these tags and find that this style is totally me...I never thought I had a particular "style" since I like so many different designs and layouts but playing with all of the layering and ink and aging things up a bit...yeah...I'm digging it...
Looks really beautiful Kim! Love that shimmer and the gorgeous color.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Tag Kim.
